ABEL RECON also offers chemical root control as a service which is accomplished by introducing aquatic
herbicidal foam into the effected areas to eliminate root intrusion and re-open the pipeline.
Once determination is made as to the extent of root intrusion, mechanical root cutting can be accomplished to remove the majority of the obstruction. The herbicide is mixed with water as it is introduced into the pipeline creating a foam coating to impede root re-growth. The foam does not contain copper sulfate or metam sodium so our system will perform the necessary control without disrupting activities at the treatment facility.
