Ridley Park, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia, PA - The underground sewer culvert transporting twelve millions gallons per day of wastewater was showing signs of deterioration.
The issue facing engineers and the authority was that the culvert went directly under Interstate 95, a major north-south route though the city of Philadelphia. The size of the culvert was three feet high, seven feet wide, and five hundred seventy feet long. The decay was exposing aggregate and needed protected from further decay. Since the culvert was rectangular, the flat surfaces needed structural support using a flat wall design calculation. Rehabilitation by Abel Recon, a Sprayroq certified partner was completed in less than four weeks using the Spraywall product.
