Driving the Local Economy by Eliminating the Source of Sanitaty Sewer Sewer Overflows (SSO’s)

Upper Montgomery Joint Sewer Authority (UMJSA); “Intensive Inflow and Infiltration Reduction Program”, Pennsburg, PA.

The goal of the wastewater authority administration is to utilize the most up-to-date and reliable technologies to evaluate and rehabilitate it’s collection system infrastructure and remove the inflow and infiltration of clean groundwater finding its way into the system. The need to expedite this infrastructure rehabilitation program is magnified by the fact that under the Federal Clean Water Act the State Department of Environmental Protection Agency will place a hold on new property development in these municipalities until the wastewater authority eliminates these SSO’s. The advancement and growth of their local economy depends on it and the Upper Montgomery Joint Authority relies on Abel Recon to provide results. The UMJA program is utilizing the following technologies:

  • Electro-scan technologies for pipe assessment
  • ALPHALINER fiberglass cured in place pipe lining as the only CIPP technology allowed based on the system’s high QA/QC and physical strengths
  • T-Liner for highest reassurance in lateral service pipe lining

Through education and intensive investigation on the trenchless rehabilitation technologies with proven track records for performance and results the UMJSA has put their corrective actions in motion and are getting the job done through multi-phase contracts.Abel Recon is proud to be a part of the environmental and economic solution for the Pennsburg, PAarea communities.
